Nikki Learns About Grids

You have learned that grids are lines drawn horizontally and vertically on a map. Those lines make it easier for map readers to find things on maps.

Sometimes map makers do not draw the lines, but use letters and numbers on a map to make a sort of grid.

Look at Nikki's map to the right. If I wanted to tell someone how to find the middle of the park I would tell them to look at B3. They could put one finger on B at the top of the map and one finger on 3 on the side of the map. When they brought their fingers together they would end up at the star.
